Working with first responders and the Kitsap Department of Emergency Management we want to expand our current efforts and develop the capacity to provide service and speed the recovery process by:
- Designation of care and distribution centers
- Providing continuity
- Developing data on potential resources
- Further securing communications
- Developing further infrastructure, human and financial resources
Community Focused Projects
Community Resource Response
How does a community survive a major disaster? The do it by coming together. We know this because in every news story we see the same thing again and again, people coming together and being amazing. The Kitsap Resiliency Project wants to create these grooves of community connection before the disaster, and in the process create great, informed, connected communities.
Why? To assure safe and sane distribution of food and supplies to the community, to prevent looting and wide spread panic, to provide a foundation on which to begin the recovery process.
Neighborhood Aid Database
In almost every neighborhood there lives a healthcare professional. In a crisis like Cascadia Rising, many of these people will not be able to get where they are assigned. We are developing the potential to connect these people with the necessary supplies so that they can give care to their communities. Where there are no professionals we hope to develop teams of doctors, EMT's, nurses etc. To travel with the Mosquito Fleet and the Pony Express giving aid aid where needed. We want develop points where emergency response and care centers make logistics easier; schools, churches, grocery stores etc.
