Join the Evolution

Synergy is where the whole is more than the sum of its parts, often exponentially more. When Margaret Mead said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has,” she was simply stating the truth. The theory of tipping Points proves this to be true. Human beings are hard wired for relationships and community living. The issue is that we are programed by culture to fear people, while we are offered hollow alternatives, that do not support us, and have no hope of filling our need for connection. We live in a virtual world, where cultural constructs replace human connection and leave us feeling alone and vulnerable.

The first step in becoming resilient is not to be alone and isolated, to form meaningful communities.
Starting with your neighborhood, using the Map Your Neighborhood (MYN) program to get communities to identify their strengths and weaknesses, to identify skills, and resources, to learn how to connect and plan together, becoming a synergistic unit.  During the process we will engage the neighborhoods to select a liaison with the project and take them through the Passport to Resilience process. As we grow and gather resources and neighborhoods, we hope to gather a database of information to use in times of disaster, using it for logistics so supplies and aid can get where it is most needed, to the people most skilled. This way in bad times we have the information necessary to get supplies and resources into the hands that can put them to the best use.

This is not a revolutionary process but an evolutionary one, beginning with our reclaiming our humanity and working together to reprogram culture into a more human construct, supporting us instead of diminish us. This all starts with you, there is nobody else to do it for you. It continues with building a community and then a grassroots movement. All Aboard!

Welcome to your point of demarcation!
From here you take your first steps on a journey to resilience, and on each point on your journey you get a stamp in your passport to mark the milestone reached.
It all starts with a single step on your own, a beginning. Along the way you will meet others to journey with, you will even circle back to your friends and family, your neighbors and community. When you do you will build stronger, more resilient connections and a stronger community. This journey is about finding personal resilience through rediscovering the strength of our humanity, and then developing relationships and community based on our joint humanity.
