What you see in these posts reflects the work being done by Resilient Ecosystems, the organization working to plant the seeds of humanity in neighborhoods and create a replicable model that can be applied anywhere with success. Why? Because we need to find a way back to our core humanity, a way beyond the toxic culture in which we live, a way to avoid the ultimate ending of our species. Humans have great potential, in the end, potential is only a possibility, not a reality, not a fact, not a deal done.
This Substack has been an experiment, testing ideas, and planting seeds, which is appropriate because Resilient Ecosystems starts by creating community gardens… Why? To create food security, lower costs for the neighborhoods, improve nutrition, teach the skills of food preparation, plant the seeds of community, and help people overcome perceived differences through mutual benefit.
From the beginning we understood that this work is generational, that each step was taken on a journey of a thousand miles, and that success was going to be incremental. For all of that the first steps are critical in building the capacity for resilience, the ability to overcome.
We have been on break, not because we are tired, or because the workload is more extreme, but because we too have been finding our voice in this new year with all the craziness of the current political environment, and the rise of the zealot culture. This extreme cultural aberration has always been present, the ignorant, the conspiracy minded who have no knowledge of how the “system” works, that there is a black and white us and them, believe that they now have “permission” and that their extreme views are “mainstream”.
We believe the way to counter this and mitigate it in all future human growth is to build relationships, to create support in community, to plant seeds, and grow connection, to an abundant harvest of our humanity supported by the structures of governance made more human by us, together. This is what Democracy is based on and this needs to be the foundation on which we build this human future.
This post is the first in a series of writings that will be more elemental in focus, meaning that we will no longer be using an AI assist to mitigate some of the ideas by watering them down into more moderate language. This also means that they will be less frequent, that said, we will try to produce at least three a month, and we will be launching a series of short podcasts to accompany the posts. We have closed the social media page and are looking for more effective ways to connect with you to co-create a more human world. This is about all of us, and for all of us, and needs to (eventually) include all of us…

The Resilient Community Movement
In today's ever-changing world, the importance of fostering resilience within neighborhoods and communities cannot be overstated. By facilitating connections among residents, we empower individuals to share their stories and experiences, creating a strong support network. This collaborative spirit not only enhances the well-being of community members but also amplifies their voices, ensuring that their unique human needs are recognized and addressed.
