Innovation 4 All

Co-creating a humancentric future where we all want to live!
A future where our children can thrive, a future where we can achieve the promise of the American Dream!
Humans are not wired to do it alone, yet we are told that we must be independent and strong… we are being told that it would be best if we did not work with others to make things better. At the same time, we are doing pointless team building exercises and told team work is the way… Yep, we get mixed messages every minute of every day.
So here is a clear message, lets get together and build the future we need, instead of hiding in our lives of fear and desperation. Together we can solve almost any issue, overcome almost any problem and we can feel great about it along the way. What would that even be like?
This is an invitation to become a part of a human future; to innovate, to plan, to connect, to build the future our children need, as opposed to the future we currently see, the one where there is no hope, a future of darkness.
We need ideas, we need solutions and we need implementers that can get it adopted. If this interests you, keep reading!

Seeking Champions for our World

Our future lay on the table like an unfinished jigsaw puzzle, the edges mostly put together, waiting for people to bring their pieces and construct the picture of what our future will become.
Up until now our story has been drawn by the few who continue to profit from the rest of us by manipulating the cultural framework, and controlling our voices and representation. We have failing infrastructure, and a planet whose climate is changing every minute, an economy that depends on an ever expanding base of customer and resources... A system that is failing as we watch. One planet, fixed resources.
There are many efforts across our planet working on everything from addressing the symptoms of our toxic culture, racism, inequality, classism, sexism, ageism, etc., to fomenting revolution. These efforts are pushing us toward a tipping point and all the while we are not communicating, not working together, not working toward the human goal.
The clock is ticking on the human race, and it is time to come together, for this we need champions!
This is your call... Will you accept the challenge and pick up the mantle?

What is a Champion?

A Champion for our world is someone who does not know there is a box, a label, a silo, that prevents us from seeing beyond the now, from visualizing and creating a more human future. Champions lead the way through example, innovation, communication, and design. Champions see what is real, what others do not or cannot see. A Champion cares for the human in us all, and desires, to the point of obsession, a better world in which we all can live and thrive!

“If you always do what you’ve always done, you always get what you’ve always gotten.” ~Jessie Potter

Beau said it better than we ever could!
It is time to make choices, it is time to come together, it is time to become champions of our world, our humanity, our future!
Are you up to the challenge?

Beau of the Fifth Column has in no way endorsed this project, or Resilient Ecosystems in any way. We do not mean to imply that there is by sharing this, only that the information is relevant.

The Challenge

We need solutions, we need them now and we need them in almost every category we can conceive!
Our infrastructure is failing, this should be no surprise to anyone. The electrical grid has not been updated since it's inception in the 1960's, the deregulation of power launched for profit utilities whose goal is shareholder profit, not providing efficient service. Water, transportation, communication, are all based on technology from the past century. Innovation and updating is expensive and has a negative impact on shareholder earnings. Local governments have far fewer resources than in the past and poverty is growing at exponential rates, forcing them to look to the cheapest available solution, not the best. At this point, it is becoming clear that centralization has profound weaknesses, from distances transported to putting all of our eggs (so to speak) in one basket, to the commercialization and commoditization of food, water, power etc. This does not speak to the industrialization of organic processes like food production, where monoculture and chemically augmented growth has put both nutritional value and soil health at risk. Our future looks a lot like dominos cascading in really challenging ways and it is up to us to step in, show up and bring our pieces to the puzzle of our human future.
This means that we the people need to come together and create the future that we need, and that is the challenge!
This is your invitation to step up and become part of creating the human future we need going forward!
We are the Grassroots Community Resilience Movement!

The Goals

First and foremost we need local solutions whenever possible, creating capacity, reducing risk, and providing flexibility.
These challenges are multifaceted, understanding that there are many pieces to this puzzle and many people will bring a piece. Resilient Ecosystem's job is to identify people and recruit them to see how the pieces fit into the puzzle.

The Challenge is a Process

This challenge is a process, or a puzzle with many pieces, all brought by you, Resilient Ecosystems and the community. Even the "You" is complex, Champions are a diverse lot, covering many disciplines, philosophies, skills and knowledge.

Review Process

We are seeking to build a team of reviewers for each specialty, that said each team will have technical elements, education elements and policy elements, to provide the most holistic approach to solutions presented.
Questions on application will be asked things like part availability, cost, efficiency, waste, reuse will be asked and need to be answered for all technology based solutions.
Solutions around education and policy will need in depth examinations on how the material will be absorbed by various audiences, what the best means of presentation is and at least three ways of presenting the material differently for repetitive consumption.
Solutions around policy adoption will need to show clear process, have strategies to overcome common roadblocks and include clear values for adoption.
